For Education to be Christian

It MUST be Centered on God’s Word

For the Word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart, Hebrews 4: 11-12

Christianity is a relationship with the Word—and the Word was God. It is a religion with a handbook—the Bible, God’s Holy Word. Education, then, is only Christian as it bases all learning on and designs all methods by the Handbook. It must be education “ACCORDING TO SCRIPTURE”.

The word "according" (with the root meaning "harmony of mind and heart") followed by Scripture is a powerful concept! Why is teaching so often lifeless when learning is so natural that we choose to learn all the time without compunction—but not always in school or church?

How can we learn life-changing truths if we are not steeped in the Word of God? And how can we read and understand those truths unless we have a truly Biblical and Christian education?  The Principle Approach is the method of education that makes the Bible the heart of every subject in the curriculum, transforming minds and hearts to the truth of the Word of God.

Each year let us aspire to deepen our understanding of Christian education and scholarship1, learn to give life and power to teaching and learning in every setting and in every generation by the Word of God.2
